Move Difficulty

Fury Cutter and Bug Bite have very low damage and don't threaten any of Pinsir's top counters. Vise Grip is laughable, having low damage and being resisted by Rock, the type you'll want to be using for this raid. Any combination of these moves will make this for an Easy experience.

X-Scissor can do some damage post STAB, but is overal managable.

Finally, for the Hard moves are all of Pinsir's Fighting Type moves, of which there are plenty. All of them will significantly cripple your Rock Types and require immaculate dodging, Close Combat being the easiest to dodge but will delete your Pokemon if not properly dodged. Superpower comes out frequently, and is harder to dodge.

Overview

While it's not the poster child of Bug Types, it's definitely a top contender. That being said, Bug is seldom a top shelf PvE type and thus shouldn't be a priority for most players, as there are other raid bosses more worthy of your raid passes.

Taking down mega Pinsir isn't too hard as it has a double weakness to Rock, and almost any mega raid boss with a double weakness can be solod with the top counters, but in Pinsir's case it's best to bring or invite a friend to be on the safe side.

Team Building Approach

  • Mega Pinsir is weak to 2x Rock, Fire, Flying, Ice and Electric.
    • Rock is the main weakness you want to exploit here.
    • Fire has some good options, but is outclassed.
    • Flying Mega Rayquaza exists, so Flying is here.
    • Ice is outclassed and is more of a last resort option.
    • Electric the same as Ice applies here.

Supreme Counters

A solo is moveset dependant, but achievable with the right counters without any Weatherboost, but bring an extra person to be safe.
