PvE Analysis
Released in May 2023, Mega Pinsir is definitely one of the better Bug Types in the game. It has a fast-and-furious moveset that's emblematic of the early days of Pokemon Go, and a great mix of DPS and TDO to make it pretty relevant. Bug tends to be a bit behind other types, and Mega Pinsir competes with Mega Beedrill and its more DPS-oriented playstyle while Mega Heracross arguably beats it out entirely when its sub-typing isn't a viability. Still, it's a solid Mega Evolution, though it will be optimal in very few raids.
Best PvE Offensive Moveset
Bug Bite + Fury Cutter | Best |
---|
- Bug Bite and Fury Cutter offer similar power. The former tends to have slightly superior DPS, while the latter is easier to dodge with.
- Rock Smash is a pass.
- X-Scissor is the charged move of choice, letting Mega Pinsir cut loose on anything weak to Bug with ease.
- Vise Grip, Super Power, Return*, and Submission* are all sub-par and not worth using.
