Arboliva
PvE Analysis
Arboliva is one of many oddball Grass Types that show up in the early game of its debut game, meaning its stats are low and its moveset is pretty shallow. In Pokemon Go, this means that it's sadly a low-priority Pokemon with no discernible niches to call its own.
Best PvE Offensive Moveset
Magical Leaf + Seed Bomb | Best |
---|
- Magical Leaf and Seed Bomb is the best moveset for Arboliva to utilize
- Energy Ball and Trailblaze are weaker options for a Grass Type Charged Move
- Tackle and Earth Power are worthless on an offensive Arboliva.
Best PvE Defensive Moveset
Magical Leaf + Seed Bomb or Earth Power | Best |
---|
- The best Fast Move option for defense is Magical Leaf
- Razor Leaf is a lesser option, while Tackle is weaker than even a resisted magical Leaf.
- Seed Bomb is the best defensive Charged Move, though it leaves Arboliva very vulnerable to anything that resists Grass movesets when paired with Magical Leaf.
- Earth Power offers decent counter-coverage and good power
- Energy Ball and Trailblaze are the worst options.
PvP Analysis
Magical Leaf + Earth Power & Seed Bomb |
---|
Arboliva has a great Fast Move in Magical Leaf, a spammy charged move to bait shields with in Seed Bomb, and a strong attack with counter-coverage utility in Earth Power. However, it doesn't really have much to differentiate it from other Grass Types. Sure, it does have a double-resistance to Ghost Type moves, but a weakness to Fighting Type moves does it no favors, while its mediocre stats with a slight attack-focus leaves it less than useful in most cases. We have a lot of great Grass Types in the game right now, so it should be easy to find a better option.
