PvE Analysis

Mega Metagross is in an... unfortunate position. It's a genuinely great Pokemon, but it's entered the Steel Type meta a bit too late. It was already outclassed as a Steel Type damage dealer when Shadow Metagross dropped, and now we have monsters like Dusk Mane Necrozma and the Crowned formes of Zacian and Zamazenta. So what use does Mega Metagross have now? Well, for one it's a very strong option if you don't have the above titans. It's also the best way to score a Steel Type Mega Evolution boost for your team. On top of those facts, Mega Metagross is not a bad Pokemon objectively speaking; it's still a very strong option that can also score extra points as a Psychic Type attacker, though it's a bit underwhelming on that front.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

  • Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash is definitely the way to go here, as it gives Mega Metagross the ability to score great Steel Type damage output.
  • Zen Headbutt and Psychic is the way to go if you want Psychic damage output.
