PvE Analysis
Duraludon is, for all intents and purposes, baby Dialga. Same typing, but lower stats and an objectively worse moveset. Sadly, Duraludon just doesn't have the raw power needed to have any real presence in the raid meta. It CAN operate early-game, but once you get a few even decent Dragon or Steel Types, Duraludon's utility goes right out the window.

- Dragon Tail and Dragon Claw is the best way to utilize Duraludon, though it's fighting an incredibly hard up-hill battle here.
- Metal Claw and Flash Cannon isn't a good moveset, but it can work if you're desperate for Steel damage.
- Hyper Beam has no utility.
PvP Analysis
Best |
---|
- Dragon Tail is Duraludon's best Fast Move by far and is stronger than Metal Claw, even if resisted.
- Dragon Claw is the only Charged Move worthy of consideration on defense, as it comes out frequently. Flash Cannon and Hyper Beam will probably never be able to launch, and certainly not twice.
PvP Analysis
Dragon Tail provides average damage output combined with great energy generation and neutral coverage, making it the Fast Move of choice. Dragon Claw has high overall performance, with good power for low energy cost, making it a great spammy move. Finally, Flash Cannon is... capable of dealing damage. Same for Hyper Beam.

Sadly, the days of a spammy Dragon Claw moveset standing as enough for a Pokemon to be great are over, so Duraludon has some issues. However, it's also got one of the better typings in the game, so it can work as a dedicated counter to specific Pokemon that could prey on the rest of your team potentially. However, Duraludon is also fairly Attack-weighted, so its overall stats aren't as great as they may seem at first glance. | ||

If Dialga can't quite cut it in the Ultra League, then Duraludon definitely can't do the job. | ||

Duraludon is just... no. |
