Vespiquen
PvE Analysis
Vespiquen is not a very good Pokemon in terms of raids and gyms. It has a poor typing and low power regardless of the meta, meaning it's generally best to not raise if you're hoping for any sort of real utility.
Best PvE Offensive Moveset
Fury Cutter or Bug Bite + Bug Buzz | Best |
---|
- Fury Cutter and Bug Bite both have very similar performance, though the former will tend to pull ahead due to being easier to dodge with.
- Bug Buzz is the best Charged Move option, followed by X-Scissor
- Air Slash, Poison Sting, Power Gem, Fell Stinger, and Signal beam don't add much
Best PvE Defensive Moveset
Air Slash + X-Scissor or Fell Stinger or Power Gem | Best |
---|
- Air Slash has solid defensive power, especially after STAB.
- Fell Stinger and X-Scissor have very similar performance, with the former hitting harder while the latter is harder to dodge. In general, Fell Stinger is better as the dodge window difference isn't terribly significant.
- Power Gem provides a bit of coverage, making it worth considering as well.
- In neutral scenarios, Bug Buzz will ten to offer the best raw damage output, though Fell Stinger or X Scissor are generally superior.
- Poison Sting, Bug Bite, Fury Cutter, and Signal Beam are best TMed away.
PvP Analysis
Poison Sting + X-Scissor and Power Gem |
---|
Poison Sting is the best Fast Attack option after receiving a damage buff in Pokemon GO: Max Out.
X-Scissor is Vespiquen's primary charge move due to its low energy cost, which allows it to bait shields. Power Gem is preferred for coverage against 3 of Vespiquen's weaknesses. Bug Buzz is too expensive.
Great League | 3.5 / 5 |
---|---|
Vespiquen is a decent pick for PvP, featuring a defensive stat spread and thus decent bulk, a vulnerable typing, and a fairly good moveset in terms of damage. It leverages a niche thanks to its Bug/Flying typing; although it is vulnerable to many types, Vespiquen can make use of it to threaten common metagame threats such as Malamar, Jumpluff, Gastrodon, and Serperior. Access to Power Gem grants it additional play against Ice-, Rock-, and Flying-type Pokemon. However, Vespiquen's moveset does leave it largely struggling against Fighting- and Steel-type Pokemon as well as the omnipresent Clodsire. | |
