PvE Analysis
Ah, Corviknight; the main means of transportation around Galar, and one of the more memorable Pokemon of the region. Despite the fact that it's basically Galar's version of Pidgey, its Steel sub-typing puts in A LOT of work... just not in Pokemon Go PvE. 164 attack is not going to make any waves, so don't bother here.
Best PvE Defensive Moveset

- Air Slash and Sky Attack is the way to go for Flying damage.
- Steel Wing and Iron Head is your go-to option for Steel damage.
- Sand Attack and Payback don't really help Corviknight out.
Best PvE Defensive Moveset
Best |
---|
- Steel Wing and Sky Attack both have the best defensive pressure among Corviknight's moves, making this the way to go.
- Air Slash + Iron Head is basically the same thing, but with reversed coverage and less power.
- Sand Attack and Payback both fall behind.
PvP Analysis
Sand Attack + Sky Attack and Iron Head* or Payback |
---|
Sand Attack is preferable to Steel Wing or Air Slash due to its high energy generation and coverage against Fire-, Electric-, and Steel-type Pokemon, adversaries that Corviknight would otherwise greatly struggle against.
Corviknight's Charged Attacks are somewhat mediocre, but they are all just about equally viable. The legacy Iron Head doesn't provide much DPE, but it is Corviknight's cheapest Charged Attack. Sky Attack provides good Flying-type damage overall. Payback is great for mirror matches and opposing Steel-, Ghost-, and Psychic-type Pokemon.
Great League | 4.5 / 5 | |
---|---|---|
Corviknight is one of Great League's most potent tanks, courtesy of its stellar defensive typing and amazing bulk. Veterans of the Great League may recall how Skarmory used todominate the metagame for the same reasons prior to the steel bird's harsh nerfs, and Corviknight is now here to pick up where Skarmory left off. Corviknight's playstyle differ from Skarmory's by focusing more on neutral coverage over brute force. As such, Corviknight is less oppressive against its positive matchups, but is instead more difficult to wall. Note that Corviknight's Fast Attack pressure is very low, so it will often struggle to farm down weakened opponents. That in conjunction with its mediocre Charged Attacks can make Corviknight feel underwhelming at times. | ||
Ultra League | 4.5 / 5 | |
Unlike Skarmory, Corviknight actually convincingly reaches the 2500 CP cap, allowing it to become one of Ultra League's most prominent walls. Pairing it with a Ground-type Pokemon such as Gastrodon or Zygarde can form a core that is incredibly tough to break. | ||
Master League | 1 / 5 | |
Unfortunately, Corviknight lacks the stats to be useful in the Master League. |
