PvE Analysis

Duraludon is... interesting in terms of Dynamax. It's got the potential to be a decent budget attacker, but Dragon Tail isn't the best Fast Move for Dynamax battles due to its 1 second window, and on the Steel side... oh boy does it have competition. I mean, it does on the Dragon side too, but those options are a bit harder to come by right now.

While it has stats that make it seem a bit more offensive, Dragon/Steel is a genuinely good defensive type, meaning it can also act as a tank, where its ability to stick with Metal Claw is completely fine. However, its bulk isn't exactly world-class, so you're going to want to leverage those resistances if you want it to pay off.

All-in-all, just wait for Gigantamax Duraludon, or even a future Dynamax Archaludon.

Best Dynamax Movesets

Dragon Tail + (Any)Offensive
Metal Claw + (Any)Defensive
Metal Claw + (Any)Defensive
  • All-in-all, Metal Claw is what you want if you're after Steel Type damage output, and is also the move of choice on Defense due to its short damage window.
  • Dragon Tail is where you want to go for Dragon damage, though it's pretty slow. Honestly, it's best to wait for Gigantamax Duraludon so that it can use Metal Claw and still throw out Dragon Type Max Moves.

PvP Analysis

In terms of PvP performance, Dynamax Pokemon are nearly identical to their non-Dynamax counterparts.
