PvE Analysis

Shadow Rampardos is one of the absolute top DPS options in the game, falling short of only select Shadow Legends and the top Mega Evolutions. When it's relevant, it will almost always be the absolute top DPS option. It really can't be over-stated just how incredibly outstanding its sheer power is, but it's also made of glass rather than stone, meaning it will shatter very quickly.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

Smack Down + Rock SlideBest
  • Smack Down and Rock Slide put Shadow Rampardos head and shoulders above the competition for Rock-type DPS.

  • There’s really no reason to use Zen Headbutt on offense.

  • Shadow Rampardos should just skip Outrage.

  • Flamethrower is poor despite synergy with Smack Down.

Best PvE Defensive Moveset

Zen Headbutt + Rock SlideBest
  • Zen Headbutt is weaker than Smack Down, but it nails Fighting-types effectively.

  • Outrage is easier to dodge than Rock Slide, but it has superior coverage and power.

  • Flamethrower is overall a slightly worse Rock Slide on defense.

PvP Analysis

Don't use Shadow Rampardos in PvP. For more information, see RampardosRampardos. The only thing Shadow Rampardos is great at is getting some highlight reels for the quickest Smack Down KOes. Alternatively, it's the fastest thing to beat up Candela with.
