Overview
Palkia, one of the great dragons of Generation 4, has made its triumphant return. And in order to reveal its true power, it has come to us as ......a centaur. What the heck?
Palkia's Origin Forme is a legitimately powerful Pokemon, and a fairly threatening one too. It only has weaknesses to Dragon and Fairy, and both of these types have some issues in this raid. Dragon is amazingly strong, but if Palkia - Origin Forme rolls Dragon Tail/Draco Meteor as its moveset, it's going to do a lot of raw damage. And while Fairy Types cover this flawlessly, Fairy is still a middling type, as just about every option is far, far below the dragons in terms of overall performance. Still, some well timed dodging and smart team building can take this thing down fairly easily despite its raw power.... although it's now overshadowed by Shadow Palkia, even though it can't use Spacial Rend. Still, Palkia - Origin Forme is still very powerful, and also has a potentially useful Adventure Effect for added value.
And before you make a comment below; yes, we are aware of the fact that its origin forme is supposed to look more like Arceus. but I'm sorry, it's still a bit silly!
Best Counters
Difficulty: Palkia (Origin Forme) can be comfortably taken down by 3 trainers using any combination of the Supreme Counters. A Duo is possible with weatherboost or against any moveset where Palkia doesn't have Draco Meteor.
 Ah, Mega Rayquaza... living wrecking ball of absolute death. This thing drops TREMENDOUS amounts of damage, and can last a fairly long time if facing down non-Dragon movesets. If you've got this monster ready to go, it should probably lead your team.
 Dragon Tail  + Breaking Swipe
 Behold the dragon that doesn't fear dragons! Shadow Dialga isn't TOP TIER in terms of DPS, but it's close enough, and its ability to reliably tank Dragon Type moves better than its contemporaries makes it VERY attractive for this raid.
Dragon Breath + Draco Meteor
 Ah, Origin Forme Palkia's bane; the shadow variant of its basic forme. This thing's release dethroned the Origin variant, and it's here to wreak havoc. Shadow Palkia's ability to double-resist Water Type moves means there's a 50% chance that it will have surprisingly high TDO here, and even if it's fighting down a dreaded Draco Meteor, it can still put in great burst damage.... just be ready to dodge.
Dragon Tail + Draco Meteor
 Dialga's Origin Forme is a great tank option here. It's a bit low on DPS, but it can still put in great overall performance.
Dragon Breath + Roar of Time
 Doesn't like water as much as the other dragons (which is odd since it's partly designed as a shark), but it'll definitely leave bruises!

 Did you see where we said "just about every option" in the description above? This is the main exception. Mega Gardevoir has no issues facing down Palkia's otherwise menacing Dragon Type moveset and can hit back very hard. It's unlikely to do a great job of supporting its team due to the fact that Fairy Types aren't extremely common n raids, but it's got OUTSTANDING overall performance on its own.
 Charm + Dazzling Gleam
 While Mega Rayquaza is the option for this raid, Mega Garchomp is a solid Dragon Type backup, though it has issues defensively due to taking neutral damage from Water Type moves.
Dragon Tail + Outrage
 Do me a favor; open up the Shadow Palkia description and read that, but keep in mind that Origin Forme Palkia is just a little bit weaker in terms of DPS, but a bit bulkier too.
Dragon Tail + Spacial Rend
 We're here for a good time, not a long time! ...unless Palkia is running Dragon Breath + anything other than Draco Meteor.

 The shadow forme of the original Dragon... has good performance here. It does a good job!
