PvE Analysis
Mega Latios is a fairly interesting Mega Evolution, overall. It's got very solid performance on both the Psychic and Dragon Type sides, but it's not the absolute top choice for either when considering some unreleased Megas. In that regard, it's great for its role compression, and can definitely put in the work when needed. It is worth noting that Mega Latios can dodge attacks very easily when using the Dragon Breath and Dragon Claw moveset, significantly increasing its mega uptime for its allies.
Best PvE Offensive Moveset
Dragon Breath + Dragon Claw | Best |
---|---|
Zen Headbutt + Psychic | Best |
- Dragon Breath is preferred over Zen Headbutt for yielding higher cycle DPS and being much more dodge-friendly.
- That said, Psychic has synergy with Zen Headbutt and makes Mega Latios a good Psychic attacker against targets weak to them such as Machamp.
- Sadly, Latios' signature move, Luster Purge*, is inferior to Psychic.
- Dragon Claw's 3 bars with short duration makes Mega Latios an efficient low-motivation gym sweeper, and also allows for good performance among Dragon Types in general.
- Solar Beam is largely worthless.
