PvE Analysis

Lunala doesn't have it very good in Pokemon Go raids. It has a decent moveset, passable stats, and a tremendous 3x resistance to Fighting Type movesets. But it's severely outclassed due to the fact that it's competing in two of the absolute most powerful types in the game; Psychic and Ghost. Howeverm the fact that it lacks access to Moongeist Beam means it really doesn't have a worthwhile niche to call its own.

Confusion and Psychic come together to make Lunala's best same-type movesets.
While not very common, using Shadow Ball over Psychic where both are Super Effective is optimal.
Air Slash, Moon Blast, and Future Sight don't bring much to the table for Lunala.

PvP Analysis

Confusion + Moonblast & Shadow Ball
Confusion is slow, but it has great damage output that's boosted by STAB. Moonblast offers solid counter-coverage, especially against Dark Types, and hits very hard. Shadow Ball has high power and counter-coverage against Ghost Types..

Lunala has potential here, but it also has problems. Not only does it fear Dark and Ghost types, its moveset is painfully slow. Confusion has average energy generation, but its slow animation can delay Charged Moves. Meanwhile, its moves are relatively expensive, meaning Lunala isn't going to have many opportunities to send out its nukes. This fact means that Lunala needs to be paired with something that can shred shields, as sending it in against anything with 1 or 2 shields available is basically asking to lose.
