Spiritomb

PvE Analysis
Spiritomb has always been a unique Pokemon, but never the most powerful one. Before the introduction of Fairy-types, Spiritomb literally had no weakness thanks to its wonderful Dark/Ghost typing. However, such advantage is offset by its underwhelming offensive and defensive stats, which hinder its value aside from pure novelty factor. It's still fun to encounter it every Halloween, though!
Best PvE Offensive Moveset
Best |
---|
Sucker Punch and Feint Attack perform on par with each other.
Shadow Ball is by far Spiritomb’s best offensive charged move.
Shadow Sneak is a strictly inferior version of Ominous Wind.
Best PvE Defensive Moveset
Best |
---|
Feint Attack does more damage than Sucker Punch.
Shadow Ball offers more power than Ominous Wind, but also higher energy cost and a later damage window.
Shadow Sneak is a strictly inferior version of Ominous Wind.
PvP Analysis
Sucker Punch is a much better move than Feint Attack, outclassing it entirely.
Shadow Ball is the main threat that Spiritomb provides. Rock Tomb provides some coverage and debuffing at a moderate price. Ominous Wind and Shadow Sneak are both underwhelming
Great League | |
---|---|
Spiritomb is a reskinned Sableye, featuring the same Dark/Ghost typing, similar stat product, and even similar coverage. Spiritomb's main differences from Sableye include stronger Fast Move pressure, deadlier burst, and some utility with Rock Tomb's debuffs. It does, however, struggle with pacing due to its moderately expensive Charged Attacks. Sableye will continue to generally be the superior option, but Spiritomb is a viable alternative nonetheless. | |
Ultra League | |
Spiritomb comes fairly close to the Ultra League CP cap, but it's just too fragile here | |
Master League | |
Spiritomb is unfortunately cursed with poor stats here. |
