PvE Analysis

The current apex of the Grass Dynamax meta, and the ultimate counter to Gigantamax BlastoiseGigantamax Blastoise as of right now, Gigantamax Venusaur outclasses all other Grass Type Dynamax Pokemon currently available despite its lower Attack stat by virtue of its Gigantamax Move. however, its damage isn't massively different from Dynamax RillaboomRillaboom. Gigantamax Venusaur's G-Max Vine LashG-Max Vine Lash is about 28% stronger than Dynamax Rillaboom's Max OvergrowthMax Overgrowth at max power, but Rillaboom has about 20% more Attack than Venusaur, so really the biggest factor that can put Gigantamax Venusaur decisively over the top in this case is its access to Frenzy PlantFrenzy Plant with an Elite TM.

That said, Gigantamax Venusaur, much like its basic and Mega formes, is destined to fall to the wayside. It has Grass Type competition in the Dynamax meta, with the biggest threat most likely being, once again, Rilaboom's own Gigantamax forme. This fact makes Gigantamax Venusaur a powerful option, but also one that will fall off a bit in the future, so invest accordingly!

Best PvE Offensive Movesets

  • Gigantamax Venusaur's locked into a Grass Type moveset, even more so than its basic, Shadow, and Mega Formes due to the way that Max Moves work. For this reason, pairing Vine WhipVine Whip or Razor LeafRazor Leaf with Frenzy PlantFrenzy Plant* is what currently sets Gigantamax Venusaur apart from the competition.
  • Petal Blizzard can also work if you don't want to spend an Elite TM.

PvP Analysis

In PvP, Gigantamax Venusaur is effectively no different from a normal VenusaurVenusaur, except without access to Return as a move option.
