PvE Analysis

Latios is a solid Dragon and Psychic attacker thanks to its high Attack stat. While it isn't the absolute best at either role, it can nonetheless deal respectable damage that isn't too far off from the possible top tiers of either role. It's better as a Dragon Type due to the fact that Dragon Breath comes out so quickly, but its Psychic performance is also solid, as Zen Headbutt isn't horrible.

It's also worth noting that a Dynamax Latios can also be used as Mega Latios in normal raids and anywhere else it's applicable, so there's added value there.

Best Dynamax Movesets

Dragon Breath + (any)Offensive
Zen Headbutt + (any)Offensive
Dragon Breath + (any)Defensive
  • Dragon Breath grants Latios the ability to use Max Wyrmwind, making it a good Dragon attacker.
    • It is also a 0.5s Fast Attack, which makes it excellent for charging up the Max Meter and therefore also the ideal move on Defense.
  • Zen Headbutt grants Latios the ability to use Max Mindstorm, making it a good Psychic attacker.
  • Luster Purge is generally the strongest Charged Attack in Latios's arsenal due to its high power and short duration. If you can find an opportunity to use a Charged Attack, it will not slow down the Max Meter charging speed by much.
  • Dragon Claw is similarly fast, but it is much weaker.

PvP Analysis

In PvP, Dynamax Latios is basically the same thing as basic Latios, but without access to Return.
