Overview
 If you only raid for one Mega Evolution in the game, make it this one. Mega Rayquaza is an absurdly powerful Pokemon, with enough sheer force behind it to rule both the Dragon and Flying metas with an iron fist. This thing is one of the most important Pokemon in the game if you're interested in raiding, and is definitely a top-tier priority.
If you want to take this thing down, then you're going to want to bring the power of winter to the raid. Ice Types are the absolute best options for this raid, though most of them are also at risk depending on what moves Mega Rayquaza is packing. This thing hits hard, so be ready to dodge. If you're going to take this thing on with a limited number of trainers, then it might be a good idea to go in and test its moveset so that you're prepared for its legendary onslaught.
Note that our guide assumes that Mega Rayquaza will be the non-displayed Tier 6, with 22,500 total HP.
Counters
Difficulty: You're generally going to need AT LEAST 3 players to take down Mega Rayquaza, though more is definitely better here!
 If you want to bring about a new ice age, then White Kyurem is the way to go. This thing brings about cataclysmic Ice Type damage, and is the top overall counter to Mega Rayquaza by a fair bit. Just be warned that it's going to take heavy damage from most of Mega Rayquaza's moves, so be ready to dodge.
 Ice Fang+ Ice Burn
 This is White Kyurem, but with less power here due to Dragon Tail not being Ice Type. It's still great, though!
Dragon Tail + Freeze Shock
 Yes, it has the sheer power to overtake many Ice Types on this list. Don't take an Outrage without dodging, and throw out damage to let this thing crush itself.
Dragon Tail + Breaking Swipe*
 Despite not being an Ice Type, lacking an Ice Type Fast Move, and sporting a mediocre Ice Type Charged move, Shadow Mewtwo's raw power is still enough to do the job here.
Psycho Cut + Ice Beam
 Shadow Mamoswine is the old king of Ice Types, and it still works wonders here. Amazingly, it doesn't even have a weakness to any of Mega Rayquaza's moves, so it's got going for it... though it's still not exactly bulky, do DODGE DODGE DODGE!
 Ice Fang + Avalanche
 Pretty glassy, but it hits hard. Dodge a lot and it'll do its job well.
Ice Shard + Avalanche
 A pretty vanilla Ice Type, Galarian Darmanitan does its job well here. Just note it IS an Ice Type, so it dislikes Ancient Power.
Ice Fang + Avalanche
 This thing hits SO HARD that it can sit above many Ice Types... just a shame it loves candy so much that it's naturally diabetic.
