Mesprit, being the Pokemon of emotion should give you the feeling to stay away from it. It's mediocre at everything, meaning it doesn't do anything good. There are better Psychic types you can find in the wild and therefore it's hard to recommend investing resources in Mesprit.

Difficulty wise, there isn't much to be worried about here. It doesn't have good coverage, nor does it have a threatening Attack stat.
