Mega Houndoom

Mega Houndoom is a strong Dark attacker and a decent Fire Type attacker.

For a time, it was the strongest Dark attacker in the game, but all that changed when Tyranitar and Hydreigon received Brutal Swing, a very potent Dark-type Charged Attack. The former also has access to an extremely powerful Mega Evolution that greatly eclipses Houndoom. Nevertheless, Mega Houndoom isn't a bad choice. Its niche is that it takes the least cost to Mega Evolve, which can be useful if you need to use a Dark type mega while there is still cooldown.

As a Mega Fire Type, Mega Houndoom is fairly comparable to Mega Charizard X in a neutral scenario, though a bit weaker. Still, it's a fine choice if you want to save mega energy for Charizard or Blaziken.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

• Snarl and Foul Play offer Mega Houndoom's strongest Dark Type moveset. Crunch is inferior in this role.
• Fire Fang and Flamethrower make for Mega Houndoom's best Fire Type moveset, with Fire Blast trailing far behind.
