PvE Analysis
Lokix is the early-route regional bug of Paldea, and it looks amazing. It's a robot-ninja-cricket with a sleek, black design, so it has to be good, right?
Nope. Lokix at least has more power than many of its contemporaries, but it's still just an early-route regional bug.

- Sucker Punch and Dark Pulse are the moves of choice for a Dark moveset
- Bug Bite and Bug Buzz do the job for Bug Type damage.
- Counter, Trailblaze, and X-Scissor are all less useful.
Best PvE Defensive Moveset
- Counter and X-Scissor have solid synergy and work well together.
- Sucker Punch isn't the worst option.
- Trailblaze is another option worth considering.
- Bug Bite, Bug Buzz and Dark Pulse are less useful on defense.

Sucker Punch benefits from STAB and has incredible parameters, outclassing both Counter and Bug Bite.
X-Scissor is Lokix's cheapest option and benefits from STAB. Trailblaze is what makes Lokix frightening, as its boosts increase Sucker Punch's already oppressive damage. It also provides coverage against Rock- and Water-type Pokemon. Dark Pulse lets it punish Ghost- and Steel-type Pokemon and provides general coverage, but it is often redundant with Sucker Punch's raw damage. Bug Buzz has no place on Lokix's moveset due to its high cost.

Lokix is a terrifying sweeper, combining Sucker Punch's incredible and consistent damage output with the Attack boosts from Trailblaze, It is fragile, however, and thus relies on dedicated shield investment to truly pay off. Lokix can find entry points against various Ghost- and Psychic-type Pokemon to begin its terror. | |

XL Lokix does actually hit the Ultra League CP cap, and it can do just about the same things as it does in Great League - sweeping opponents with the combination of Sucker Punch and Trailblaze. The increased bulk in this League does help Lokix live longer to accumulate multiple boosts, but they also somewhat hamper its sweeping potential. Additionally, it needs to be wary of Ancient Power from Giratina. | |
