PvE Analysis

Liepard is great if you're into cats. It's not spectacular for anything else though.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

  • Snarl performs better stat-wise, and also shares the same typing with Dark Pulse to fulfill a Dark-type role.
  • Payback is a step down.
  • Charm lacks STAB, but pairs with Play Rough to fulfill a budget Fairy-type role.
  • Gunk Shot has no use on Liepard.

Best PvE Defensive Moveset

  • Charm is the best move on defense, hits hard, and provides meaningful coverage.
  • Snarl is ok for what it does, but is more likely to be resisted by Fighting-types.
  • Play Rough is the hardest to dodge, and its typing is good against common attackers.
  • Dark Pulse is inferior by comparison, but could nail Metagross in some cases.
  • Payback takes too long to access as a 1-bar move.
  • Gunk Shot is the worst option for Liepard, but its animation is hilarious.

PvP Analysis

Snarl benefits from STAB and is generally recommended for its high energy gains, allowing Liepard to access its charge moves sooner. Charm can deal powerful Fairy-type coverage to unsuspecting opponents, but it lacks STAB and Liepard's charge moves are quite costly for its poor energy generation.

Dark Pulse provides largely unresisted STAB Dark-type coverage, and requires the least amount of energy among Liepard's charge moves. Payback costs more energy to use, making it less desireable. Play Rough is quite costly to use, but covers Liepard's weakness to Fighting-type Pokemon. Gunk Shot demands too much energy to use.

Great League1.5 / 5

With a high ATK stat, poor bulk, and slow charge moves, Liepard's performance in Great League is unspectacular. While wins against Ghost and Psychic Pokemon are generally expected, not all seemingly favorable matchups end up positively, and other Dark Pokemon can fulfill Liepard's role more consistently.

Ultra League0 / 5

Liepard's max CP doesn't reach the CP cap of Ultra League, making this cat a rather poor choice for Ultra League.

Master League0 / 5

Cat naps are a lot more satisfying than losing to dragons and dinosaurs, right?
