Mega Camerupt Raid Day is Coming, September 28

Welp, it's finally time! Mega Camerupt is making its long... LONG over-due debut in Pokemon Go, and it has its own Raid Day lined up as well! This is... definitely an event!

Let's be serious for a second; Mega Camerupt should have been one of the early Mega Evolutions released back when Mega Evolutions were first introduced. Being released now means it's in the exact same position that Mega Sharpedo was not too long ago; it's literally a clone of a better Mega Evolved option, in this case standing in the VERY LONG shadow of Primal Groudon. Sure, it's better as a Fire attacker, but OH BOY do we have better options on that front.

Goals and Expectations

The one nice thing about Mega Camerupt is the fact that it's a pretty reasonable solo (expect a raid guide soon). Add to that the fact that we get 5 free raid passes for the day, and this is a good chance to score some resources and get a dex-fill Mega. Basically, just run some raids with monsters like Primal Kyogre and enjoy the free resources.... or raid something else.

More important than Mega Camerupt itself is the fact that we are nearly done with the original Mega Evolution list. All that's left are Mega Metagross, which we have confirmed for this season, and Mega Mewtwo X/Mega Mewtwo Y, which will likely drop for Go Tour: Kalos, or some similar high-profile event. This opens the door for the new Mega Evolutions from Pokemon Legends ZA!
