PvE Analysis

Wormadam-Trash has a name that speaks for itself. It's literally trash in the meta both offensively and defensively due to a severe lack of stats. It's useful in PvP though.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

  • Bug Bite is better for offense partly due to STAB, and partly to fulfill a Bug-type role.
  • Confusion doesn't synergize with Wormadam's charge moves or its role.
  • Bug Buzz sports the best damage output for offense and gets STAB.
  • Iron Head is a bit lackluster despite also getting STAB.
  • Psybeam shares same typing with Confusion, but maybe pick an actual Psychic-type Pokemon instead.

Best PvE Defensive Moveset

  • Confusion has a very high base power, which makes it best for defense.
  • Bug Bite doesn't hit very hard on defense, despite STAB.
  • Psybeam ties for the earliest damage window, but doesn't provide much coverage.
  • Iron Head is also somewhat hard to dodge, but Steel-type attacks aren't very valuable.
  • Bug Buzz hits the hardest with STAB, but is also the slowest.

PvP Analysis

Confusion gives Wormadam-T a unique moveset as a Bug/Steel Pokemon, though its slow animation time and lack of STAB are discouraging. Bug Bite benefits from STAB and average DPT and EPT, but makes Wormadam-T generally inferior to other Pokemon in the same role due to its slower moveset.

Iron Head costs the least amount of energy, takes advantage of STAB, and can provide relatively neutral coverage against many Pokemon. Bug Buzz is Wormadam's strongest charge move partly due to STAB, but 60 energy cost is not cheap by any means. Psybeam doesn't provide a lot of damage for its high 60 energy cost, and is somewhat redundant with Confusion movesets.

Great League2.5 / 5

Wormadam-Trash sports a very defensive Bug/Steel typing and respectable bulk, which leaves it with only a single weakness to Fire-type attacks, though this is a double weakness. In some cups, this can allow Wormadam_Trash to become a safe pick. Unfortunately expensive charge moves makes it relatively slow compared to other meta Pokemon, which is its biggest drawback.

Ultra League0 / 5

Wormadam-Trash lacks adequate stats to compete outside of Great League.

Master League0 / 5

Bugs don't really stand much of a chance against Dragons and Dinosaurs, especially with Wormadam's CP.
