Throh
PvE Analysis
Throh was dropped at a time when Lucario received Aura Sphere and Conkeldurr hit the scene. To say the least, it never stood a chance. That said, its bulk is acceptable and it has two three-bar moves, so it's an ...okay... option on defense.
Best PvE Offensive Moveset
Low Kick + Focus Blast | Best |
---|
- Low Kick and Focus Blast give Throh its strongest Fighting Type moveset
- Low Sweep and Brick Break aren't good moves.
- Body Slam has the second-highest neutral damage of Throh's Charged moves, but it can't deal Super Effective damage
- Zen Headbutt is inferior
Best PvE Defensive Moveset
Zen Headbutt + Body Slam or Brick break | Best |
---|
- Zen Headbutt has higher base damage, and is generally the fast move of choice
- Body Slam provides solid power, 3 bars, and good neutral coverage
- Brick Break is fairly comparable to Body Slam on defense after STAB
- Low Sweep is basically identical to Low Brick Break, but just slightly easier to dodge. Most of the time, the difference won't make a huge difference
- Focus Blast takes too long to charge and probably won't even be used.
- Low Kick is generally inferior
PvP Analysis
Low Kick + Body Slam & Low Sweep |
---|
Throh was not blessed with good fast moves. Among them, Low Kick is its best option with a below-average stats. This alone hurts its viability greatly. Not even Body Slam can help it, and the fact that the absolutely horrible Low Sweep is its other best move basically kills it. It could run Focus Blast, but it will probably faint to fast moves before getting it off.

Movesets can make-or-break a Pokemon, and this time it absolutely broke Throh. Don't bother raising it. | |
