Shadow Magneton

Shadow Magneton has a nifty typing with 12 resistances that sadly cannot compensate for its bad defensive stats. It can function as an Electric-type attacker with high Atk and passable moves, but it's still best to just evolve it ASAP if you want better Electric Type DPS.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

• Shadow Magneton’s best fast move is Spark, followed by Thunder Shock and Charge Beam.

• Discharge’s increased flexibility and higher energy efficiency put it over Zap Cannon.

• Magnet Bomb is superior to Flash Cannon, though neither synergize with Magneton’s fast moves.

Best PvE Defensive Moveset

• Charge Beam is the best fast move on defense due to higher DPS and energy gain.

• Discharge and Magnet Bomb require low enough energy to be reliably used on defense, although they are easy to dodge.

• Zap Cannon and Flash Cannon do not work well with Magneton’s awful durability.

This is the most popular moveset for Magneton, and it's finally not legacy anymore. Thunder Shock is the best fast move due to its superior energy generation.

Discharge isn't a terrific move, but sporting a lower energy cost than Zap Cannon makes it more accessible. Magnet Bomb offers Steel-type coverage, but is also a stronger choice during neutral matchups.
