PvE Analysis

Mega Scizor joins Pokemon Go as the first Steel Type Mega Evolution, and another Bug Type Mega Evolution just for good measure. While its DPS falls behind its current and future competition, it's got a fair bit of bulk and a lot of resistances, making it a solid Mega Evolution regardless, especially for larger groups. While it's not the best Mega Evolution, its ability to cover two types that aren't super commonly called on definitely gives it added value, so dropping some Stardust onto this cutting fiend is definitely not a bad idea. It's also worth mentioning that these two types, when combined, can cover 6 different types, so Mega Scizor actually is a fairly nice Jack-of-all-trades mega Evolution.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

Fury Cutter + X-ScissorBest
Bullet Punch + Iron HeadBest
  • Fury Cutter and X-Scissor offer the highest DPS when facing Psychic, Dark, and Grass-types
  • Bullet Punch and Iron Head are the preferred set for dealing with Rock, Ice, and Fairy-types
  • Night Slash is underwhelming; a three charge move with a longer cooldown and does not benefit from STAB, only offering additional Ghost coverage
  • Return is hardly even worth a footnote on offense.
