PvE Analysis

Cherrim is another one of those interesting Pokemon that's fun to look at but ultimately serves little use in the meta. At this point of the game there's already plenty of other Grass-type Pokemon with much better stats and movesets, which makes Cherrim not great for anything other than the Stardust upon catching it.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

Razor Leaf + Solar BeamBest
  • Razor Leaf outperforms Bullet Seed and is the better pick overall, but the latter isn't too far behind.
  • Solar Beam gains STAB and enables Cherrim to fulfill a Grass-type role.
  • Dazzling Gleam has little use on Cherrim, but being a 2-bar move makes it easier to use before fainting.
  • Hyper Beam is bad, TM this.

Best PvE Defensive Moveset

Razor Leaf + Dazzling GleamBest
  • Razor Leaf hits much harder on defense, which makes it more valuable than Bullet Seed
  • Dazzling Gleam is the only 2-bar option available, and is quite good against common Fighting and Dragon-type attackers.
  • Solar Beam and Hyper Beam are both terrible for defense, but at least the former gets STAB.

PvP Analysis

Use its Sunshine form, which possesses the exact same stats and moves, but also has access to the valuable Weather Ball Fire.
