PvE Analysis

Turtonator has an interesting design and great typing... and that's about all that can be said about it. Hopefully it gets its Fire Type Signature Move, Shell Trap, at some point in the future and becomes a bit better.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

  • Fire Spin has slightly better performance than Incinerate while also being far easier to use.
  • Ember is inferior.
  • Overheat is the best Charged Move by far for Turtonator. Flamethrower, Dragon Claw, Dragon pulse, and Flash Cannon all fall behind.

Best PvE Defensive Moveset

  • Incinerate is definitely the best option for defense, hitting extremely hard as one of the absolute best Fast Moves on defense.
  • Dragon Claw is the best pairing, as it has great neutral coverage and comes out more frequently than Flash Cannon or Overheat.
  • Flamethrower shares a type with Incinerate, which would make Turtonator easier to take down.
  • Dragon Pulse is inferior.

PvP Analysis

Incinerate offers high power and energy generation, making it Turtonator's strongest move choice. Overheat is a strong nuke for a relatively low cost, making it useful for cleaning up. Dragon Claw has good neutral coverage and decent power post-STAB, and is very fast at that.

Great League

Turtonator lacks a real niche in the Great League. It can put in work, but it's not genuinely worth a slot in the majority of cases.

Ultra League

Turtonator has some winning matchups here, especially with a few Steel Types. However, it's still got it rough.

Master League

If you want a Dragon in the Master League, it's probably best to not substitute in a turtle....
