PvE Analysis

Stunfisk basically has zero utility, just use it in PvP.

Best PvE Defensive Moveset

  • Thunder Shock slightly edges out Mud Shot thanks to the STAB bonus, but both are fine though weak.
  • Mud Bomb, Discharge, and Muddy Water are all perfectly fine. Just pick one that is off-type with your Fast Move of choice.

PvP Analysis

Thunder Shock and Mud Shot are identical in terms of DPT, EPT, and turns. Pick one based off which type you want more reliable damage of.

Mud Bomb and Discharge deal moderate damage and benefit from STAB. Muddy Water is Stunfisk's cheapest option, but it is far too weak to be worth running.

Great League3.5 / 5
Unovan Stunfisk is a bulky and spammy Pokemon. Its Ground/Electric type combination is unique; it allows Stunfisk to simultaneously pressure Steel- and Water-type Pokemon. Despite this, Stunfisk is a rather niche Pokemon; it lacks a nuke option to take advantage of its bulk and high energy generation, and its vulnerability to Ground- and Grass-type Pokemon can be very nasty. By no means is Stunfisk a bad Pokemon, however.
Ultra League3 / 5
Stunfisk actually gets close to the CP cap, and it benefits from Grass-type Pokemon being generally less dominant in this league. However, Stunfisk benefits less from this league's increased bulk compared to other Pokemon in part due to it not being able to actually hit the CP cap, and its attacks can feel like they bounce off its enemies. It is a great Pokemon at stalling out the switch clock, however.

The Master League is no place for a Stunfisk
