PvE Analysis

Contrary to its name and design, Rotom-Heat is unfortunately not going to be cooking anything. Without all the cute little traits that make it a threat in the main series (Levitate and supporting options), Rotom-H won't be doing much with rather average stats and unspectacular moves.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

Thunder Shock + ThunderboltBest
  • Thunder Shock and Thunderbolt pair together to make it a passable Electric attacker. Thunder is outclassed
  • Overheat doesn't exactly have much synergy with its Fast Attacks, though its DPS can be decent when used with Party Power.
  • Astonish is bad .

Best PvE Defensive Moveset

Astonish + ThunderboltBest
  • Astonish deals more damage than Thunder Shock.
  • Thunderbolt is Rotom-H's fastest attack
  • Overheat and Thunder are both too slow to use

PvP Analysis

Thunder Shock + Thunderbolt and Overheat

Thunder Shock offers the energy generation needed to reach Rotom-H's expensive Charged Attacks and is therefore preferred over Astonish.

Thunderbolt and Overheat are both Rotom-H's cheapest attacks, although they are still rather expensive. Overheat provides explosive coverage, but it must be used carefully due to its Attack self-debuff. Thunder is a hair slower than Thunderbolt and can be ran for slightly more damage.

Great League1 / 5
Rotom-Heat has a unique typing, making it one of the rare Electric-type Pokemon that can punish Grass-type opponents. That's about where its good traits end, though, because it's got too many issues between its slow moveset and overall frailty. A double weakness to Ground isn't ideal as well (it really, really wants its ability from the main series), due to how common Ground-types often are in the metagame.
Ultra League0 / 5
The same issues in the Great League persist in the Ultra League

Using Rotom-H is one way to burn your own rating in the Master League
