Regieleki

PvE Analysis
Regieleki's stats may be unimpressive in Pokemon GO, but its DPS packs a surprising punch. This is because Regieleki's signature move, Thunder Cage, is immensely powerful. Though Electric-type competition is fierce, Regieleki is nonetheless a top tier attacker that can at times even surpass the likes of Shadow Raikou and Xurkitree. This is not even mentioning Regieleki's unmatched synergy with Party Power, which can propel it well beyond other Electric-type competitors.
Do bear in mind Regieleki's frailty, however. As Thunder Cage is a 1-bar move with a somewhat long cooldown, Regieleki can underperform if it faints at the wrong time, such as while it is holding on to a lot of energy or during the move's animation. As such, it may not be the best Electric if you plan to afk tap tap raids with it. With proper dodging and energy management, however, Regieleki's potential can be unleashed.

- Lock-On or Thunder Shock are both viable as options when combined with Thunder Cage
- Lock-On's superior energy generation actually grants Regieleki slightly more DPS, synergizing extremely well with Thunder Cage's absurd parameters.
- Thunder Shock can benefit from rain and a background Primal Kyogre boost. Additionally, its lower energy generation paces better with 2-man Party Power.
- Volt Switch pales in comparison.
- Thunder Cage* is the sole reason Regieleki is good.
- Regieleki's performance trails very, very far behind if it lacks Thunder Cage. Zap Cannon is somewhat serviceable, while Thunder is extremely underwhelming.
- Hyper Beam has no use on Regieleki.
PvP Analysis
Regieleki has wonderful Fast Attacks. Lock-On has the most energy generation so Regieleki can spam its Charged Attacks, but Thunder Shock gives it farm down pressure. Volt Switch is another option that grants Regieleki the greatest Fast Attack pressure, but its long duration can be awkward on such a fragile Pokemon.
Thunder Cage is necessary for Regieleki's best performance due to its low cost. It deals decent damage and comes with a guaranteed Defense debuff. Hyper Beam is Regieleki's only coverage move, severely denting Electric-resisting Pokemon - if Regieleki can reach it. Thunder provides Regieleki with a reasonable accessible nuke that can punish opponents who expect to tank Thunder Cage's middling damage.

---|---|---|
Regieleki is an extreme glass cannon that unfortunately struggles to set itself apart from other Electric-type Pokemon. Though it possesses lightning-fast pacing, it's not special in that role either. Other options like Dedenne or Morpeko will yield more consistent results than Regieleki. With that said, Regieleki can be fun to run as a spice pick. | ||
Ultra League | ||
Things don't look any better for Regieleki in the Ultra League either. Bellibolt is a far superior Electric-type choice, while Pokemon such as Zygarde, Gastrodon, Steelix, and Virizion make Regieleki absolutely miserable. | ||
Master League | ||
Regieleki's stats are just not strong enough to compete in the Master League. |
