Jirachi

PvE Analysis
Jirachi is known for its ability to grant wishes, and it's quite possible that it wished to be strong in PvE because Doom Desire's PvE stats got buffed before its official release. Unfortunately, Doom Desire isn't enough to bring Jirachi to the top of the meta as its overall stat distribution is insufficient for offensive PvE.
Best PvE Offensive Moveset
Best |

- Confusion is the fast move of choice, outperforming Charge Beam even against most Water-type targets.
- Doom Desire is incredibly powerful even if it would hit for neutral damage, though it doesn't synergize as well with Confusion.
- Psychic allows Jirachi to act as a Psychic Type attacker, though it's not the best choice for that option.
- Dazzling Gleam and Aura Sphere are good moves, but they lack utility and power on Jirachi.
PvP Analysis

Confusion's high damage and good energy gains makes it a much better option than Charge Beam.
Doom Desire is the main charge move for Jirachi, and even after its pre-release nerf it's still an excellent move. Aura Sphere is an excellent addition to Jirachi's movepool, allowing to punish Dark- and Steel-type Pokemon who otherwise give it trouble. Jirachi's other moves, Dazzling Gleam and Psychic, simply pale in comparison.
Great League | |
---|---|
Jirachi is a curious choice for the Great League. It's got alright stats, good resistances, and an amazing set of Charged Attacks. Few Pokemon resist all of Confusion, Doom Desire, and Aura Sphere, so Jirachi can leave dents on just about anything. However, Jirachi's weaknesses to Ground, Fire, Dark, and Ghost are all very exploitable. Threats such as Corviknight, Gastrodon, Shadow Marowak, Shadow Charizard, Galarian Moltres, and Galarian Corsola are omnipresent in the Great League, which puts a damper on this Pokemon's impressive potential. | |
Ultra League | |
Jirachi is a fine choice for the Ultra League, though its weaknesses remain exploitable. It is a Steel-type which can threaten Fighting-type Pokemon, which can make it an interesting partner to certain Pokemon like Guzzlord who requires coverage for a challenging combination of weaknesses. | |
Master League | |
Jirachi has passable stats in the Master League, but don't expect too much from it. The sheer power level in this league requires lower-statted Pokemon to fill specific niches, and Jirachi is too much of a generalist for this kind of role. |
