PvE Analysis

Urshifu - Single Strike is a relatively powerful Pokemon with the advantage of being able to act on the Dark and Fighting sides of the spectrum. It can put in good work, but the problem here is the fact that it's outclassed by Gigantamax Machamp on the Fighting side, and is destined to be outclassed by itself in the form of Gigantamax Urshifu - Single Strike Style as a Dark Type Dynamax option. It's not a bad investment, and a Dark/Fighting Type that can drop Fighting Type Max Moves has its niches, but it's not going to be THE BEST investment moving forward.

Best Dynamax Movesets

Sucker Punch + PaybackOffensive
Counter + Dynamic PunchOffensive
Sucker Punch + (Any)Defensive
  • Sucker Punch is the best move for Urshifu - Single Strike. It's a 0.5 second move, meaning it will charge up Max Move energy faster than the competition. Pairing it with Payback is fine despite its weak performance, as Urshifu will primarily be using Max Moves.
  • Counter and Dynamic Punch is the way to go for Fighting Type damage output.
  • For defense, stick with Sucker Punch to build up Max Guard and Max Spirit faster.

PvP Analysis

In terms of PvP performance, Dynamax Pokemon are virtually identical to their non-Dynamax counterparts.
