Fire Spin and Wing Attack have low power and are resisted by most counters. Next up are Fire Blast and Heat Wave, these moves don't come out frequently and are fairly easy to dodge. Ancient Power suffers from a lack of STAB and coverage.
For the Intermediate section we have Overheat. This is Moltres' arguable strongest move that can deal serious damage, even though it does resisted damage. Respect this move by dodging it!
Overview
Moltres has been overshadowed by plenty of other Fire types over time, even by its own shadow forme. That being said, Fire is a very competitive type, making moltres more of a good choice rather than an optimal one.
Raid wise this thing is taken down easily as long as you throw rocks at it, it's that simple.
Team Building Approach
Moltres is weak to 2x Rock, Water and Electric.
- Rock is the way to go, sporting a double super effectivness there's no doubt this is the top choice.
- Water is really only here because of Kyogre, but still worse than Rock.
- Electric should only be utilised as a filler type.
Best Counters
Supreme Counters
Moltres is just a smidge away from being soloable, it's just about doable with level 50 Pokemon and weatherboost. Bring/invite a friend to make sure you can take it down.
