You worked hard for 6 Mysterious Components, and your reward is... Alolan Grimer. Yeah, this isn't a great one for the most part...

Team building recommendations
For the Team Leaders, it's important to work on strong team building a bit more, as they definitely pose more of a threat than most of the grunts. For this reason, we're going to look at our counters less on an individual basis and more based on their role within a team. This team structure isn't mandatory to win, but at least some degree of planning will help tremendously.
Lead
With Mud Slap Rhyperior is capable of taking care of Alolan Grimer easily and buidling up a Rock Wrecker for Gyarados. Bonus points if you have a second charge move unlocked with Surf for Dugtrio in the second slot.
Second slot
With great stats and a moveset in Dragon Breath and Spacial Rend* with Aqua Tail as a second charged move, Palkia provides serves as a well rounded option for anything in Arlo's second slot.
Third slot
In case Arlo carries a Steel type in his final slot, Heatran with Fire Spin and Magma Storm* will serve as a great backline to finish off this battle.
Good substitutes
Arlo is vulnerable to Electric types in his second slot and should be exploited. Except for Dugtrio that completely walls them. If you find yourselves struggling with Gyarados or Slowbro, definitly consider one of these Electric type options instead of Palkia.
Being part Steel type, Excadrill can put in great work with Mud Slap and Scorching Sands against Muk and Metagross in the backline. It can definitely serve as a substitute for Rhyperior, though a second Charge Move for Rock Slide as coverage is recommended.
