Vigoroth
PvP Analysis
Counter + Body Slam and Rock Slide |
---|
Counter is an awesome move for PvP, and even without STAB performs significantly better than Scratch.
Body Slam is the main charge move for Vigoroth, benefiting from STAB and enabling heavy shield pressure thanks to its low energy cost and good DPE. Rock Slide is a good move and provides further coverage against Flying- and Ghost-type Pokemon and is Vigoroth's preferred second Charged Attack. Bulldoze is a poor move, though it has utility in dealing additional damage to Steel-type Pokemon. Brick Break is pretty bad since it is somewhat redundant as Counter already deals good Fighting-type damage, and the Defense debuff isn't strong enough to make it worth using.
Great League | |
---|---|
Vigoroth was a metagame staple in Great League, boasting decent stats, the oppressive Counter + Body Slam combo, and the ability to hard counter Lickitung. As long as Vigoroth could avoid Annihilape, its one true counter, it could deal massive damage to just anything. Prior to it receiving Rock Slide and becoming a Great League staple, Vigoroth was known for terrorizing cups, often due to the insufficient options to keep its deadly moveset in check. In Pokemon GO: Max Out, Niantic nerfed Counter, Body Slam, AND Rock Slide, immediately knocking Vigoroth out of viability. | |
Ultra League | 0 / 5 |
Don't. Especially not after its nerfs. | |
Master League | 0 / 5 |
Not even evolving Vigoroth will save it here. |
