PvE Analysis

If you think that Lickilicky is going to lick the competition, then I've got to warn you that it's hardly worth spit. Its low power will leave a bad taste in your mouth, making it about as appealing as a case of halitosis. On defense, it's got the bulk to make some attackers bite their tongues, but its moves are so slow and easily avoided it that calling it good is a bit tongue-in-cheek.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

LickLick + Body SlamBody SlamBest
  • Lick has wide coverage and higher energy gain for Lickilicky's expensive charged moves, making it the superior choice over Zen Headbutt
  • Body Slam is exclusive, but it makes for Lickilicky's highest STAB option.
  • Shadow Ball pairs with Lick to make Lickilicky a pseudo-ghost attacker with a double resist to Ghost, which is generally its strongest niche offensively.
  • Hyper Beam is the strongest non-exclusive STAB option, but it's very slow and can't deal Super Effective damage.
  • Solar Beam is a strong move in general, and offers some Super Effective damage potential.
  • Earthquake is a good move, but it lacks solid synergy

Best PvE Defensive Moveset

Zen HeadbuttZen Headbutt + Body SlamBody SlamBest
  • Zen Headbutt provides better damage potential than Lick, as well as important counter-coverage.
  • Body Slam is a move of choice. Wide neutral coverage, good damage, and three bars.
  • Shadow Ball is also absolutely fantastic, hitting most Pokemon extremely hard while also having the advantage if two bars.
  • Hyper Beam, Solar Beam, and Earthquake are all slow moves that are easily dodged, and they all have their own set of unique advantages on defense. However, Hyper Beam and Earthquake tend to pull ahead just slightly.

PvP Analysis

LickLick + Body SlamBody Slam* and Shadow BallShadow Ball or EarthquakeEarthquake

Lick sports an even 3 DPT (Damage Per Turn) and 3 EPT (Energy Per Turn), as well as a narrowly-avoided typing, making it the superior option for a quick move hands down.

Body Slam is a legacy move from Lickitung's raid day, but is necessary for its cheap energy cost, respectable power with STAB, and shield-baiting utility. Shadow Ball is a powerful move, and combined with Lickilicky's Normal typing, shuts down almost every Ghost-type in the game, across all three leagues. Earthquake broadens its coverage, notably against Steel-types.

Great League4.5 / 5

Lickilicky is a relatively bulky Pokemon, with a mono-Normal typing that results in only one vulnerability. With access to Lick, Lickilicky can wall almost every Ghost-type in this league, with Shadow Ball being the nail in the coffin if unshielded. The addition of Body Slam from Lickitung's raid event gives Lickilicky a much needed cheap charge move (energy-wise), and can result in considerably more wins across the meta with successful shield-baiting plays. Unfortunately, the addition of Candy XL means that it is outclassed by its pre-evolution, Lickitung. Lickitung is not only bulkier and possesses the same Lick + Body Slam combo, it also has access to a cheaper coverage option in Power Whip.

Ultra League3.5 / 5
Lickilicky fares better in the Ultra League as Lickitung is no longer around to outclass it. Access to Shadow Ball allows it to smash Giratina apart. Though it still competes with Snorlax for its niche, Lickilicky is pretty solid on its own.
Master League0 / 5
Snorlax is just a better Pokemon, and Snorlax itself isn't great in the open Master League
