PvE Analysis

PvP Analysis

Lick + Body Slam and Bulldoze

Lick outperforms Tackle even with STAB, and also enables Munchlax to wall Ghost-types.

Body Slam is the primary charge move due to its low energy cost, and also has the best DPE rating among Munchlax's charge moves when factoring STAB. Bulldoze and Gunk Shot demand a lot of energy and generally sees little use, but Bulldoze is more preferable for its lesser energy cost and coverage against Steel-types that would wall Munchlax otherwise.

Great League3 / 5

Munchlax is surprisingly good for PvP, with access to frequent Body Spam, excellent bulk, and only a single weakness to Fighting-types which reduces the number of counter picks. The number of losses that Munchlax has is mostly limited to Counter users, other Normal types (due to double resistance against Lick), and generally bulky Pokemon not weak to Ghost-type attacks such as Lapras, and Bastiodon. It's also important to note that many of Munchlax's losses in one-shield scenarios against common meta picks are quite narrow, which means Munchlax can get even more wins if it's able to farm a bit of extra energy. Overall a very considerable candidate that may be overlooked, and is almost definitely a must-ban in any "Babies Only" cups.

Ultra League0 / 5
Munchlax is too smol. Use Snorlax.
Master League0 / 5

Snorlax is better for Master League.
