PvE Analysis
In the Main Series, Mega Mawile was feared as a tremendously powerful attacker thanks to its ability, which literally doubled its offensive stats. However, in Pokemon Go we're working with it without its boosts, so it's.... pretty unimpressive by every meaningful measure. This is also a Pokemon that doesn't have any Signature Moves in the main series, meaning poor Mega Mawile will likely never have a niche to call its own in Go. It can survive a very long time against Dragons thanks to its stellar typing, but its offenses are just too low to really justify thanks to that downright pathetic Attack stat.
Best PvE Offensive Moveset
Fairy Wind + Play Rough | Best | |
---|---|---|
Ice Fang + Play Rough | Situational | |
Fire Fang or Fairy Wind + Iron Head | Good |
Fairy Wind and Play Rough is the way to go for Mawile, as it allows it to fulfill its role as a Fairy Type attacker. Ice Fang can also work, and is optimal when double-effective.
- Iron Head is a decent move, especially post-STAB, but Mawile lacks a Steel Type Fast Move. Pairing it with Fire Fang can work against Ice Types
- Bite, Astonish, Vise Grip, and Power-Up Punch are all worthless for Mawile.
