PvE Analysis

Enamorus is a Pokemon that sits in a... rather interesting position. It's basically a better Shadow Gardevoir in most situations, especially since it has a Flying sub-typing instead of Psychic, allowing it to have better resistances against Dark Types while keeping the 2x Fighting Type resistance. However, Fairy Type is still a bit sub-par overall, and Enamorus prefers going Fairy Wind/Fly, as Fly is a great move with a lot of power.

The problem there? If you're playing against something that's weak to Flying, then Enamorus is directly competing with a few of the best types in the game.

In short; Enamorus is between a rock and a hard place. Either compete in a meta that's under-powered, or compete in a meta where the competition is way above its head. Honestly, its only major hope for the future is that it eventually gets its Signature Move, Springtide Storm. If this move follows the same stat-line as the Signature Moves for the other Forces of Nature (and there's no reason to think that it won't as the others are all re-skins of one another), then it's got some real potential in the future.

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

Fairy Wind + Dazzling Gleam or FlyBest
  • Fairy Wind is the only Fast Move really worth considering on offense, as Astonish and Zen Headbutt do it no good.
  • Enamorus has two main Charged Moves that it can utilize:
    • Dazzling Gleam gives Enamorus a good Fairy Type moveset, allowing it to act as a strong Fairy Type moveset.
    • Fly is actually stronger than Dazzling Gleam and has great synergy with Fairy Wind against Fighting Types or dual-type Pokemon with a Fairy/Fairy Type weakness
  • Grass Knot is an easy skip.

PvP Analysis

Fairy Wind + Fly and Dazzling Gleam or Grass Knot

Fairy Wind is the only viable Fast Attack for Enamorus thanks to its excellent energy generation. Astonish is a decent move and offers some coverage, but its energy generation isn't particularly great. Zen Headbutt is horrendous.

Fly is Enamorus's best and cheapest Charged Attack, benefiting from STAB and possessing high damage for its cost. Dazzling Gleam is extremely expensive and doesn't particularly synergize with Enamorus's poor bulk, but it ensures that Enamorus can actually threaten Dragon-type Pokemon. Grass Knot can be used instead for alternative coverage, hitting Rock-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokemon super effectively.

Great LeagueN / A

As Enamorus is currently a raid-exclusive Pokemon, it cannot be obtained below Level 20. Unfortunately, a Level 20 Enamorus cannot go below 1500 CP.

Ultra League

Enamorus is a Pokemon whose bulk rivals that of Gengar. In other words, fragile is merely a kind word to describe it. Thankfully, its typing grants it a good number of resistances (three of which are double resists) to work around its paper-thin Defense. Several key targets include Virizion, Annihilape, Trevenant, and Dragonite. With that said, Enamorus lacks the ability to punish Steel-type Pokemon; common Pokemon such as Registeel and Alolan Sandslash can easily contain its offensive potential. The combination of common counters and Enamorus's high reliance on landing on good matchups to make up for its poor bulk makes it a risky pick in the Ultra League.

Perhaps a better secondary Charged Attack can fix it one day?

Master League

In Pokemon GO: Max Out, Enamorus carves a niche in the Master League by virtue of its typing and coverage. Many top meta threats such as Rhyperior, Yveltal, Tapu Bulu, Zygarde, and Palkia-O are weak to it. Enamorus's Fairy/Flying typing also provides it with resistances to a number of incredibly strong Fast Attacks, such as Sucker Punch, Mud Slap, and Dragon Breath / Tail. This can make Enamorus deceptively difficult to remove as long as it can hide behind shields. Enamorus's sky-high Attack stat and incredible pacing can be very rewarding in the right hands.

Enamorus's success is highly dependent on the metagame as the Pokemon inherently has many flaws. It is incredibly fragile and demands shield investment - even a Palkia's Aqua Tail takes about half of its HP. It also lacks great ways to dent Steel-type Pokemon. Other Fairy-type Pokemon such as Zacian and Primarina have more meaningful choices in their movepool that allow them to adapt the metagame trends more easily.
