PvE Analysis

As the newest member of the cute rodent brigade, Togedemaru is unfortunately more useful as a heart warmer than a meta performer. But don't let its inadequate stats fool you, this Pokemon will roll into your Pokedex at lightning speed!

Best PvE Offensive Moveset

  • Thunder Shock is slightly better than Spark on offense, though the two are very similar.
  • Wild Charge synergizes well for an Electric-type role, and hits hard with STAB.
  • Gyro Ball isn't a very good move despite STAB, and Togedemaru lacks a Steel-type Fast Move.
  • Fell Stinger is for PvP.

Best PvE Defensive Moveset

  • Spark is slightly better than Thunder Shock on defense, though the two are very similar.
  • Fell Stinger can be spammed frequently on defense, giving it more opportunity to be used.
  • Wild Charge is a strong move if the attacker doesn't dodge, though Ground-types laugh at this.
  • Gyro Ball has a very slow animation on defense, making it a poor move.

PvP Analysis

Thunder Shock and Spark are almost identical, though the former is slightly more favored due to superior energy generation, letting Togedemaru access its Charge Moves sooner.

Wild Charge is mandatory due to its powerful STAB damage, despite its harsh self-debuff. Fell Stinger gives Togedemaru some shield-bait play, potentially giving it an edge when successful. Gyro Ball is a poor move due to its unimpressive damage per moderately high energy cost, and Steel typing is not highly valuable on offense.

Great League

Togedemaru sports the same typing as the Magnemite family with very slightly more bulk than Magnezone in this league. Despite being rather fragile, the benefit of Steel typing's laundry list of resistances help to increase Togedemaru's survivability against the overall meta. Access to the powerful Wild Charge gives Togedemaru a lot of play against a variety of common Pokemon, however Togedemaru is extremely dependent on this one move to be successful. Pokemon with typings that resist Electric-type damage will have an easy time against Togedemaru, especially Ground-types. Round rodents also don't like getting punched or Countered.

Ultra League

With the help of Candy XL and some amazing friendship, Togedemaru can just barely scrape the edges of the Ultra League CP limit, making this Pokemon a very costly investment for this league. Unfortunately Dragon-type Pokemon like Giratina tend to be much more common in this league, slightly discouraging Togedemaru. Regardless, prevalence of Water-types in this league gives Togedemaru some incentive, and two direct hits with Wild Charge is enough to defeat Kingdra. Just keep this Pokemon away from things that hurt Steel.

Master League

Cuteness won't be sufficient for Master League, consider Magnezone instead.
