On April 25, 2018, Niantic announced via Twitter and the in-game news that they will be changing the reward for the Research Breakthrough from Moltres to Zapdos. The change will take effect May 1, 2018 at 1:00PM PST, and does not have an announced end date.
Field Research tasks will also be brand new and updated to include Flying and Elecrtic-type Pokemon as goals and rewards. It will also include "skill-based tasks that will challenge your abilities as a Trainer."
