An Excellent Opportunity - Good and Great Throws count as Excellent for one day only.

A bit of an interesting event of sorts was announced, and it's actually fairly unique. As a bonus that will last one-day-only, all Good and Great throws will instead automatically count as Excellent throws on April 1, 2024. This means that hitting the circle and scoring a catch at any size will grant the following:

• An improved catch rate
• Additional XP 

On top of this, Spinda will be available via Field Task encounters, and a Timed Research line will be available. This has the potential to be a nice little bonus for players, but take note of the date! Don't be caught off-guard if Niantic decides to have a bit more fun during this mini-event, though it's worth noting that Niantic has been extremely tame with April Fools gameplay changes in the past.

Make The Most Of It

While this bonus isn't amazing, it's still a good opportunity to make Pokemon easier to catch and score some additional XP. Based on this, it's a decent time to drop a Lucky Egg if you're inclined to amass XP, and it's also a good chance to farm our current major raid bosses, Tapu Lele and Mega Venusaur, if you're so inclined.

It's also worth noting that this is a day to definitely not miss your daily incense. The opportunity to catch more Pokemon in this manner is definitely nice, but those who are lucky enough to encounter one of the three Galarian birds may end up appreciating how much easier it will be to score an Excellent throw and maximize those absolutely pathetic catch rates!

Either way, this is an excellent chance to amass some XP and score easier catches... pun very much intended.
