Yet more idle speculation

I would like to see shiny Mewtwo. It's one of the few green ones that doesn't look like puke and gives the tryhards who've never missed an EX week something to raid for. Even if they haven't outright announced it doesn't mean we won't see it - see Lugia R2.

If they continue with the EX system now would be a great time to look at past criticisms and overhaul the whole thing. Unless Mewtwo is replaced with a different EX boss I expect the system to be put on hold either way. I don't even know who they'd replace him with; Every other legendary has been made available via normal T5 raids before this and putting Jirachi or Deoxys goes against their "everybody gets one" mentality with Mythicals.

Post this event, I'd like some news about Gen 4, even if not an immediate release. We saw the starters in the summer promo art and Halloween was when we first saw the slow Gen 3 trickle. They have to know most of us are waiting with tired anticipation for something about its release.

Wow, a lots of possibilities behind the announcement. I would like to see all the good things to happen, but to the most I want Gen 4 to be released ASAP.

1) Maybe. I'm not going to predict it, but I wouldn't be surprised by it. I'm only interested in it because I can get a guaranteed 6 Candies for it. (I've given up on shiny chasing.)
2) I think they will be reworking the EX Raids; I can only judge by my own experiences, but it is a regular occurrence that less than 25% of the people who get an EX Pass can or do show up. That seems to be a bit on the low side, but elsewhere there seems to be a consistent problem of below 50% turnout.

My guess? It will be tweaked so that you and your Friends can start the raid whenever you want it on that date. So you and 5 Friends all get an EX Raid pass, you decide to meet up after work and do the raid. And two of you have kids who have the Raid Pass too, but being Under-13's, have no "Friends" - they can jump in on the raid whenever it starts.

3) Given what the time frame is for the Mewtwo raids, I'm going to double down on my prediction that October will be when Gen IV is released, with Giratina being the Raid Boss starting October 24 and going through to November, then likely Palkia in November to December, then Dialga in December to January. (I originally made that as an off-the-cuff comment, but after the announcement that Mewtwo is here for a full month, ending before Halloween? Gonna go with a full-on prediction here!)

Another prediction: LOTS more Evolution Items. And they will be released around Christmas - similar to how a few years ago when a free Incubator was given out daily. Every day for X days, when you spin a Pokestop or Gym for the first time, you will get a random new Evolution Item. Also expecting them to be given out by Research Tasks, however I think Niantic has learned that Rural and Suburban players are at a huge disadvantage when it comes to "Catch X (Specific) Pokémon!" quests, so will do what they can to balance things by giving them away daily.

Shiny mewtwo'd be nice, but I think its on the second time around in the raids a legendary gets shiny, but given mewtwo's already been out, it seems possible.

I hope they ditch the Ex system following this. I know its a money maker for niantic, but all these raid events did mess with the Ex system at least where I was and also did make niantic boatloads of money, so I hope they remove it.

I think we'd get gen IV during mewtwo but at the latest after him. Theres a lot of gen IV pokemon that people are hyped about that are from gen I, so they may be prepping us for that

No shiny Mewtwo until Mewtwo day, when it will be able to learn Psystrke for a limited period of 3 hours.

EX system moves on to something else. Niantic spent ages refining it to ditch it now. There will always be people complaints whether for keeping or for removing it.

Gen 4 after Mewtwo. But just a few new releases to tease us. The rest rolling at a slow pace during a long, long winter.

But no one knows for sure ;)

The Ex system is done.... They aren't going to put a mythical Pokémon behind the Ex wall, Niantic has repeatedly stated that everyone is going to get all the Mythical Pokémon. Social media is already full of rage that Mewtwo isn't getting a day and all that comes with it (Free passes, shiny form, new moves) so we probably won't see Mewtwo again till it gets its raid day. They aren't going to break up legendary sets or pairs... I just don't see what you could make an Ex boss that anyone would care about. Besides nobody really cared for the Ex system anyway, not the players, nor the sponsors, and I suspect Niantic will be glad to have one less club to beaten with on social media.
