What battle parties do you make?
These are my 5 battle parties:
1: Ho-oh (non-solar beam)
2: Ho-oh solar
3: Fighters (for Ttar, Absol, and gyms full of fighting-weak defenders)
4: Gym 1
5: Gym 2
Gym 1 and Gym 2 are for different types of gyms. Gym 1 is used most often.
Gym 1:
1: Machamp CP 2455 L30 93% C/DP
2: Dnite CP 3102 L31 96% DT/O
3: Dnite CP 3072 L30.5 93% DT/O
4: Ttar CP 3117 L30 91% B/SE
5: Ttar CP 3109 L30 89% B/Cr
6: Alakazam CP 2639 L34 100% PC/FS
Gym 2:
1: Raikou CP 1895 L20 91% TS/WC
2: Dnite CP 2976 L30 77% DB/DC
3: Machamp CP 2455 L30 93% C/DP
4: Ttar CP 3109 L30 89% B/Cr
5: Dnite CP 3102 L31 96% DT/O
6: Alakazam CP 2639 L34 100% PC/FS
The Alakazam at the last slot of both gym teams is just to increase "battles won" count, though I sometimes pull him out for fun against the occasional Machamp and Hariyama defenders.

I just realised that it’s good to have a backup party for raids if number of participants is low. Could save a lot of seconds and DPS by just swiping for your back up party and rejoin immediately rather then revive your attackers or looking for better options then chansey and Blissey that the game keeps recommending.
I just made these two teams today after completing my last Ho-oh raid and powering up my 95% Ho-oh to lvl 35. The first team consists of gym sweepers, hence the name "Generals", and the second team is solely for Tyranitar raids, which I will now be focusing on to find that 100% Tyranitar. I'll probably make more interesting teams later on, but I'm sticking with these teams for now.
Until they create a "Start raid now" button to skip the lobby timer, there isn't really any point to use the slots for raid teams. The exceptions would be for short handed raids or vs Legendaries on their favorable weather days (setting up second wave). OR if you are trying a gimmick solo and you've got to fish around for sub-optimal counters.
I'm working on tweaking my gym teams. I like the idea of a "all fighting" and a "strong generals" teams. I'll probably put a another team of fun gym counters so I'm not always using Machamp and Ttar.
Finally, it's an easy way to show off a few mons that don't necessarily have the highest IV, since I've favorited over a hundred mons so I don't accidentally transfer them.
1. Gym battlers, 2 Machamp, 1 Dragonite, 1 Tyranitar, 2 mons for growing win count
2. Ho-Oh team 1, 5 Golem, 1 Raikou
3. Ho-Oh team 2, 2 Golem, 2 Gyarados, 2 Dragonite
I go in to Ho-Oh with team 1 regardless of charge move and rejoin with team 2 if necessary. There's no reason to skimp on DPS against Solar Beam.
There aren't sadly enough to have for all solo teams, but there's always a full 120 seconds to pick them and I can easily remember them without help.
