Not popular here but IV is not that huge of an issue. I focus on level and moveset then IV.

I would rather have an IV80 level 35 (wild capture) than an IV96 Level 20 that needs a massive investment for little increase in use by the time it hits level 35.

As far as what I keep..... do to the bag space limits and holding mon for double candy event dumps i am only keeping meta relevant and lucky mon that are greater than level 30.

I was looking for a matchup where Lick Gengar gets an additional breakpoint beyond 13A at L40 to justify avoiding to power up a lucky one. I didn't find it, so I maxed it out with cheap stardust and I live a happy life with it.

I've maxed out mons that are 13A, and powered up to L30 many others with even worse attack IV before raids guaranteed good IV's.

It really depends on the pokemon's rarity or meta relevance. 13 is as good as 15 for me.

It also depends on the attack stat of the mon, and on the move it has... A SB Gengar with 12 attack is better than a SB Mr.Mime with 15... So... It depends on the mon...

The IV obsession is for simpletons that don’t understand the game

For me that really depends. For meta relevant community day Pokemon and other Pokemon that have immediate use in a team I've evolved individuals with 12 or 13atk (shiny CD Pokemon even lower overall IVs). If I can wait (either because it has a CD in the future or because it's not a big upgrade to my team) I rather have a 15atk individual. Given that I find and trade low IV (future) meta relevant Pokemon every day I am bound to get plenty of luckies and thus good stats.

Considering IV points don't multiply a pokemon base stats, but actually they just add up to them, the answer is: it depends.

If the pokemon has a very high attack base stat, like Mewtwo, who has 300, then a lucky one with 12, 13, 14 or 15 atk IV will result in Mewtwo having 312, 313, 314 or 315 atk, and the difference between them it's negligible.

On the other hand, if the pokemon has a good bot not super high attack base stat, like Articuno (192), then you may want it to have a perfect 15 atk IV to compensate for that.
