Was the Donphan T3 nerfed?

What was once a raid I struggled to beat often winning in the last three seconds. Today soloed twice +40 seconds each win. Was it just a good day? I was looking forward to Donphans return but never expected this lopsided of a win.

They have boosted the type effectiveness, with super effective being 1.6x, resistance 0.625x.

What ^ said. The "super-effective" multiplier used to be 1.4x and is now boosted to 1.6x (and double effective from 1.96 to 2.56). If you used to find thrill in the challenge of soloing Doniphan you can now actually solo Rhydon as a tier 4!

In addition to the super effectiveness change, most raids also got slightly easier with the rebalance of defense and hp. Raid boss hp depends only on the raid tier and since defense was reduced for most pokemon, most raid bosses ended up with less bulk post-rebalance.

Personally since all of the solo tier 3s are easy 100% wins now, i wouldn't touch them if not for being a low risk medium reward option. Also catching legendaries are stressful as hell, catching tier 3s or 4s are much easier.

I see tier 3s as a good option for a daily raid as a more casual player. If there's a tier 3 going on at a gym on my way to our from work it's nice to get the rewards and a decent chance at a TM.

Most of the tier 4 solos require weatherboost, so they're not always a realistic solo option, even if you have the team for them.

I figured if the OP could solo Donphan a few months ago (really only doable in neutral weather with kyogres or maxed Gyarados) then a rhydon solo might be doable for them.

Rhydon solo is an order of magnitude harder than the old Donphan. In neutral weather you need six maxed Kyogres for Rhydon and it's still close. Donphan you could do with six unique attackers, no Kyogre, no weather boost.

Today was a good day

Suddenly a let down, isn’t it? I was building a team for Jolteon as my last unfulfilled T3 solo challenge, now I totally lost taste for it. Well, I can still just use it for Heatran duos, which is far from an actual challenge too.
