Tyrogue evolution

I never really worked with it in Go, so I gotta ask: what is the deciding factor for Tyrogue‘s evolution? I know it‘s dependant on Attack and Defense stats in the main games. I got a Tyrogue which would be good as Hitmonchan in Great League, but don‘t know if I should (or even can for that matter) risk evolving it.

It is based on which IV is highest:

Attack - Hitmonlee
Defense - Hitmonchan
HP - Hitmontop

If two or three IVs are tied for highest, it is random between those two or three evolutions.

IIRC, initial studies when Tyrogue was first released suggested that two-way ties were 50:50 chance, but three-way ties were closer to 25:25:50 in favor of Hitmontop. (Probably accidentally splitting the chance to two steps: 50:50 is it Top? Then if not Top, 50:50 is it Lee or Chan.) I don't know if there were any further studies to find out if this observation was either true or fixed.

Thanks for this precise answer! Was a gamble right now, but I lucked out and got Chan, which I‘m happy about (was 50/50 Lee/Chan). Gotta remember that for the future.

I just took the plunge on my perfect tyrogue, beforehand I got the 10k move, then it got PuP and IP, too
