There Can Be Only One...

This is, of course, an entirely hypothetical question, but if you could pick only one Mon out of your entire collection as your all-time favorite, the one you would keep if you had to get rid of everything else, which one would it be and why?

Perhaps your highest CP mon, that elusive 100% IV rare, the one you had to walk 5000 miles before you got enough candies to evolve it, one with sentimental value behind it, or one with an interesting story about how you caught it. So many options to consider, but in the end, there can be only one! Which Mon do you pick? 😊

The Mewtwo with confusion/focus blast, because it's my first one, and at least i will not be toothless in fighting gyms.

I upvoted. A predictable choice but by no means a bad one. You won't run into many mons that both moves can't hit.

For me, if I could choose only one Mon out of my entire collection, it would have to be Zapdos. It's one of my top favorite Mons from playing Gen 1 as a kid, it's my team bird, and my first 100% IV legendary. And at one point, yeah, I even walked it as my buddy. Just because it looked cool. 😋

Yeah i m team instinct too. Really hope i hadn t stoped playing at that time when raid first introduced. Just one Zapdos would be nice XD

I'd like to think that, at some point, they'll bring the legendary birds back for an encore round. Fingers crossed!

Same here, team bird! It's missing 1 defense IV, but there is next to no difference. Currently maxing out.

My oldest Pokemon is a P/DG Blissey born from a Chansey that was one of my first 10K hatches and has earned me the most coins.
I suppose I would keep her so I'd still have the ability to annoy others.

My legacy maxed 98% fighting frog, because people always tell him he's no good and he always proves them wrong.

I miss seeing Poliwraths in gyms. Bubble (when it used to be 25 dmg) + a multi bar charge move was a combo that made Poliwrath hold it's own in gyms. Good choice!

I do, too. If I remember correctly, they altered Bubble to combat bubble strat, but that's not a thing anymore. I wish they'd revert it. Unlike Volt Switch, you could even get off a Bubble on offense while still being able to dodge. Back then, Submission was a 35-power three-bar move; Bubble was almost more powerful than the charge move! That was fun.

I'd go with this one. Caught her wild in the first month of the game. Not the best IVs but she has served me well, and with it's typing it wouldn't be an awful choice.

Probably my Tyranitar. She helped me battle vs almost every bird. I used all my resources to evolve her once I hatched her back in July 2017

It would likely be my Lugia. It was my first ever legendary and first maxed out Pokemon, has more gym wins than any of my team, and it's stuck with me through just about everything.

I was at first bummed that it got DT/SA as its moveset, but found that by trading some EPS it makes Lugia a great neutral threat and Dragon counter. It really doesn't have any bad matchups, only really being threatened somewhat by Aggron and Steel-moveset Metagross, and it can even take on a maxed perfect ZH/DG Blissey without fainting out OR timing out, a feat unrivaled in my team. It may take a little time, but if we were down to one Pokemon it is the epitome of a jack-of-all-trades with it's very high TDO.

Suppose Legendaries weren't permitted, I would go with my 2964 Gardevoir. It's a decent generalist, Blissey counter, and Psychic/Fairy specialist. Even better, it works great in gyms with one of the best defending movesets in the game (even better than ZH/DG), and has a very good typing given the current meta. It's CP is somewhat lower than the Psuedo-Legendaries of the game, meaning it would have some more staying power. It would be both a shield and sword for this game so would be a great choice, and it's always been one of my favorites from the console games.

My Body Slam Snorlax, called Sleepy because he was caught at 1 AM about 100 yards away from my house. I have powered him up from level 9 to 40.

Probably my 98% Vaporeon. It was my main attacker and one of my main defenders for so long.

If not her, then either my legacy Body Slam Snorlax or my DT OR generalist Dragonite.

This one's easy. It would be my first Arcanine (pic below) as Arcy is my all time favorite Pokemon. In the fall of 2016 I hatched a Growlithe that took me over 50 candy, picked the best Growlithe I had and evolved it. I've never been so nervous about which moveset I get, especially since TMs weren't in the game at that time. Luckily I got FF/FB.

This might illustrate how much I like him. After I reached level 30 I stopped worrying about my trainer level because wild encounters don't get higher level after that anymore. However, I recently powered the Arcanine in question to my level's maximum (36) but I want to go higher. Thus I care about my XP once more and that's completely because of this lovely dog!
