Research tasks not properly coded?

So, since the start of the Fighting event, we have the quest „Use a super effective charge moves in 7 raids or gym battles“, which grants a Charge TM, which isn‘t bad. Picked up one of them yesterday, but didn‘t get around to doing the quest yet. From my experience, you could just use a super effective Charge Move on the first Pokemon in a gym, and then sweep through without any more SE Charge Moves and it would still count for every Pokemon you defeat until the last one (for example, full gym, you attack the first Pokemon SE, that one Charge Move counts for all other Pokemon too, so you get 6 on the counter. Now today, I did a Dialga raid, had a whole Fighting team, but didn‘t get a single „SE Charge Move“ for the counter, despite firing off multiple Dynamic Punches and Close Combats. Anybody else having issues with the quest in regard of raids?

Raids don't count, and yes I have also noticed this bug during normal gym battles. It makes it easier however, so im not complaining lol :)

I don't know how long you've been playing but oh boy, there are so many things about this game you can make that statement about.

I‘m aware, I started shortly after release. Though, I don‘t think I had that many issues (despite prominent stuff like dodge glitch or phantom charge moves)

There's been a lot of smaller things too. Incorrect raid bosses being released, Luxio hatching from eggs, people not being credited their entire Adventure Sync walk distance rewards, Espeon/Umbreon being made raid bosses with a 0% base catch rate, stuff like that. Stuff that may not affect everyone individually but reading about it makes you think "quality Niantic programming".

It always worked like that while the reward was for an electabuzz.

Well there's your problem, still using Close Combat on Machamp. /s

Seriously though, that task has always been bugged. Despite saying "raids or gym battles" it's only ever counted for gym battles. As long as you use one SE move against the first Pokemon in a gym sweep it'll continue to check off after clearing each consecutive battle, regardless of if another SE move was used or not. Frankly I don't mind it working this way, makes it easier to clear IMO.

This is the first time (as far as I am aware) that a research requirement has mentioned both gyms and raids.

It appears to still be programmed the same as the older version that mentioned only gym battles.

Besides raids being mentioned falsely, the task is worded strangely. It seems like it means "use 7 super effective charge moves in gym battles", but really, it's saying "use a super effective charge move at the start of each string of gym battles, totaling 7 battles".

One additional clarification--you have to defeat whatever pokemon you used the SE charged move on to get credit. I was battling a gym from a subway doing this quest and I got kicked out of the first battle after using a SE charged move but before the pokemon was defeated and didn't get credit towards the quest

Since you posted this, Niantic dropped the word "Raid" from this task. So now correctly only for gym battles. The glitch is still working as today I received "super effective charge" from each successive battle even when there was none used as long as the first one was SE. I tried using NON SE in one first battle and subsequently did NOT receive SE credit.
