Rare Candy-dates

I have 107 Rare Candy and expect to earn more from daily Entei raids. Using some would reduce the need to throw away red balls and berries (especially during the double-stardust period). Which species candy should I get? There are four main options:

Larvitar: Hatched two, walked one (13A/15D/13S) 200km, now have 133 candy, which is enough to evolve my first Tyranitar but not enough to take him to L30. Simply the best non-legendary attacker in the game.

Entei: I have three wonders, notably a 11A/15D/13S with FF/OH, but Fire-types are irrelevant in this metagame and I already have Arcanine, Charizard and Flareon at around 2000 CP.

Raikou: 14A/10D/15S with TS/WC would be a significant upgrade from my Jolteon army.

Machop: With only 9 candy (Machops are rare in Singapore), one Machamp (a wonder with Count/DP) and two wonder Machops (Machoke is missing from my living dex), this is worth consideration.

Unfortunately, I do not have a single Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, Mewtwo or Suicune, as I was on hiatus from mid-July to mid-October. Walking looks like a better way to earn Abra and Mareep candy (for powering up and two dex entries respectively), while Dratini is farmable in my biome.

Raikou is a great candidate, and yours at 87%, 14 Attack, and the optimal moveset is a great contender for the premier Electric specialist and a great generalist. Legendaries also are of special note since there is no other way to gather candies for them outside of their being re-released (unless you plan on walking 10km). Rare Candies should go to legends first since, even with 5kms like larvitar, their walking value is double.

I'd do one of the legendaries. I'm very happy with my Entei, and I find that it has some use in the current meta, and will have more when Gen3 comes out. It's useful against Scyther, and is good against Machamp with Steel moves. It also puts a huge bite into Cloyster unless it has HydroPump. It also makes a good generalist, since Overheat has the second highest base power (damage) in the game, after Solar Beam. It also helps that I don't have any other strong fire mon, my flareons are so-so. Entei just rocks. Or Raikou is good too.

But once we get more and more legendaries, I think you'll be upset that you spent rare candy on Tyranitar or Machamp. So stick with a legendary or save the rare candy and clear bag space some other way - once you start catching mons for double stardust, the balls will clear out fast, and you'll need to dump potions to stop them from clogging the bag up.

Raikou. I’ve powered up 2 to level 32. Great generalist; amazing against water. And, he will be good for a long time to come.

Edit: if I don’t get an ex pass soon, I’m gonna sink more candy into my 98% Raikou and take him to level 39.5. He’s that good imo.

Yes, wish I had one; Raikou also is really good against flying and steel. Didn't connect to a raid group until there were just a few days of Raikou left here in the US. Raided two, both escaped. Hope the beasts do a farewell tour in December, so I can snag one or three. Very happy with Entei, but would be more happy with Raikou and Entei.

Thanks for the responses. I now have 66 Raikou candy (just enough to power my L20 Raikou to L30) and 47 Rare Candy left, which I could use on Entei, but I have another week to earn more Entei candy before determining how many more I need.
